Abstract: This paper outline the transformation of Zhang Lvxiang from a common Confusion scholar to a god posthumously fete in the Confusion Temple.During this process central government figures,and local officials and elites remodeled Zhang’s character，and made  him a regional symbol or national apotheosis of Confucianism.The elevation of Zhang was useful and powerful in carrying on the Confusion tradition and maintaining legitimate authority.During  this process of canonization ，national and local elites simultaneously cooperated and crashed.The process reflected the  cultural mechanics of society and needs of times.

摘要： 本文勾画张履祥由布衣寒士到地方偶像直至成为孔门圣贤的过程,并对这一文化现象进行解读,透 视其背后所蕴藏的宏富的社会内容。张履祥从祀的过程展现了国家和地方士绅按照自己的意志对其进行重新塑 造的努力,他们既合作又冲突的过程折射出各自的价值取向,并从不同层面反映了当时社会文化机制与时代需要。
