Abstract: This  text attempts  to  study  the  strategy  employed  by  French  Jesuit missionaries  in China during  the Qing  Dynasty.Upon  its  arrival  in  China,the  French  Jesuit mission  established itself rapidly supplanting  progressively  the Portugese  mission  and  forming  the  basis  for the spreading of  western  Christianity  at  the  time.The  growth  of  the  French  Jesuit  mission is  very intimately linked  with  Jesuit missionary  strategy  to adapt to  the  historical  and cultural context of the country。This strategy  was manifested principally  in  three  domains.
First,the  efforts  on  the  cart  of the  French Jesuits to  adapt  their  rites and  customs, and  adapt to local mores,etc.Secondly,their efforts to  conciliate conflicts  between  Occidental  and  Chinese cultures,and  above  all ,between  the  principles of  Christianity  and  Confucianary doctrine.This  strategy  on  the  part  of  the  French  Jesuits  was  indeed  very  efficient .It  is  thanks  to this  arm  of  the Jesuits the  French mission speedily created for itself a fertile  terrain in China  and developed rapidly.
